Change in Copernicus' Business Development
16 June 2020
As of 1 July 2020, the Copernicus Business Development contacts for Meetings and Publications will change. Dr. Xenia van Edig, who has been in charge since 2012, will leave Copernicus and join the publication services team of the Technical Information Library (TIB) in Hannover on a newly created position, namely as open-access publication platform manager.
When planning conferences, workshops, and exhibitions with Copernicus Meetings, please contact Katharina Huckemeyer (katharina.huckemeyer@copernicus.org). When interested in journal publishing and interactive public peer review with Copernicus Publications, for existing as well as for new journals, please contact Dr. Johannes Wagner (johannes.wagner@copernicus.org). Both are at your disposal and looking forward to collaborating with you.
During these past 8 years, our partners and scientific associations benefited from Xenia's tireless dedication in fostering the principles of open access and open science in people's mind and in our services. These years have also been very challenging times with many innovations both in the conference and the publishing landscape. Xenia had the chance of fighting for open access at the forefront, in particular through her engagement in the OASPA and her positions on their board. Xenia has been very well connected both internally to Copernicus' various departments as well as externally to librarians, open-access activists, funders, and societies.
We will surely miss Xenia, but we wish her all the best for the future, great colleagues and projects, and hope that the open-access community will further benefit from her active membership. We are very grateful for all achievements made, for 8 years of very pleasant collaborations, and for her superb work for Copernicus.
